It was on my second visit in Caliraya when I learned that this famous lake here is actually man-made. The lake is amazingly wide, about 3 km, that I couldn’t really fathom the thought that the local government of Lumban/Cavinti made effort in creating this.
Today, the Caliraya Lake is one of the must-visit places in Laguna. You have to have your own ride to get here with ease, though, as commuting is not very advisable because passenger jeepneys bound here, which are very few, are on schedule. *There’s a dispute between the towns of Lumban and Cavinti over this Lake as the latter claims this part of Caliraya theirs.
